Run of ‘Storytelling for Change’ is canceled

All performances of Nikiko Masumoto and Brynn Saito’s “Storytelling for Change,” a follow-up production to last year’s successful “Hold This Stone,” are canceled. The CURTAIN 5 TheatreGROUP production was originally supposed to open Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Fresno Soap Co., and continue through Nov. 4.

A statement from the two women:

We’re saddened that our performances had to be cancelled. Anyone who purchased tickets (through Brown Paper Tickets) will be getting a refund. We are hopeful to be able to share next steps soon. For now, we are so grateful for your support. We are so proud of our storytellers, they are brilliant, and they have done incredible work that we hope will see a stage sometime soon.

Saito told me yesterday she hoped that the show would be able to offer its second weekend performances, but I received an email from her this morning telling me those are canceled, too.
