Win tickets
to 'A Whisky, Brew & Art Affair'
at The Mad Duck

You can win two tickets to “A Whisky, Brew & Art Affair” at The Mad Duck (4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21), a great fundraiser sponsored by the Edward O. Lund Foundation. Here’s a description:

The Mad Duck’s Alex Costa and his team will take us on a journey away from Scotland to another ancient land, as we explore the fine art of Japanese whisky, where they have taken a vital corpus of work from the Scotch masters and imbued their own flavor and style to create a libatious masterpiece. Specially fashioned Mad Duck craft brews are always featured, and substantial artisanal fare will complement each tilt of the glass.

There’s also a fine-art auction. Proceeds from the event fund full scholarships that go to Fresno State art students so they can attend the Fresno State London Program. My preview story includes interviews with two Fresno State art students who got to go to London. You can read more about Ed Lund, who was a beloved member of the Fresno arts community, and the foundation honoring him, here.

The ticket giveaway is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please support independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post below answering this question: Ed Lund loved fine whisky. Do you? (Or if you’d prefer not to get too personal, just say why you’d like to attend the event.) Deadline to enter is noon Thursday, Oct. 11. You must be 21 to enter this giveaway. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.

Sounds like a great opportunity to learn how to develop an appreciation for fine whiskey! And to support the students!

I’d love to go to learn to appreciate fine whiskey myself as I’ve never had an opportunity like this to get to do so!
