Win tickets
to Junior Company wine tasting

If you’ve never seen the Junior Company perform at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater, you’re missing a Fresno institution. For decades, the Juniors have helped promising young talent — such as Heidi Blickenstaff, Sharon Leal, Chris Colfer, Joel Abels, Christopher Gorham and, of course, six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald — hone their performing talents.

While Good Company Players is a regular business, the Juniors are supported by a non-profit organization. The Junior Company Foundation helps each new crop of young thespians performing. Which, of course, takes money.

That’s where the JCF’s big wine tasting fundraiser comes in. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, the Fresno Lexus showroom will be transformed into an elegant setting. And if you’re lucky (and a member of The Munro Review), you could win a pair of tickets (valued at $50 each) for free.

The evening boasts great wine and great food:

The menu will include a full flight of wine varietals compliments of Cardella Winery with hors de ’oeuvre pairings including chicken cordon bleu bites, goat cheese tomato toast points, sunomono salad, mushroom duxelle, and so much more! Complete your pairing with “a sweet experience” from Barb’s Cakery.

The contest is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. The Munro Review is an experiment of sorts to see if a community can support independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase or donation is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post below answering this question: Did you ever dream of singing and dancing on the stage? (Or if you’d prefer not to get too personal, just say why you’d like to attend.) Deadline to enter is noon Sunday, Oct. 7. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email. Needless to say, you must be 21 to enter.

Not only was my partner Sarah a musical theater major in college, but I spend most of my 30’s touring with shows like Lion King and Wicked and worked on Broadway as well. AND… now Sarah is a Holistic Nutritionist and food and cooking are a huge part of her life, and therefore mine… AND… who doesn’t like a wine pairing dinner. It would be awesome to attend this event and oddly we’re both available that night. Thanks for the site and your consideration!
