Win tickets
to Fresno Philharmonic's
'Grand Promenade'
You can win two tickets to the Fresno Philharmonic’s first Masterworks concert of the season, titled “Grand Promenade” (3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, Saroyan Theatre). The contest is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider supporting independent local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.
To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post below answering this question: One of the pieces on the program is the famous “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Mussorgsky. Have you ever listened to music while going through a museum, and what was it like? (Or if you’d prefer, you can just say why you’d like to attend the concert.) Deadline to enter is noon Wednesday, Oct. 17. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.

I haven’t listened while walking an art gallery. But I think art was being shown when I played the Jr High band version. 😉

There was a Manet exhibit at the national gallery and (to the best of my memory as I was pretty young!) there was Debussy playing. Beautiful pairing.
