Win tickets to the Fresno Philharmonic’s big holiday concert

For many people in Fresno, it isn’t the holiday season until the Fresno Philharmonic says so.

I‘m giving away two pairs of tickets to one of the orchestra’s most popular concerts of the year: “Home for the Holidays,” a musical celebration of the season conducted by Rei Hotoda. Guest artists are professional vocalist Jennifer DeDominici along with the Fresno Master Chorale, directed by Anna Hamre.

The performance is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Saroyan Theatre.

Come early to enjoy lobby caroling, hot chocolate and pictures by the Christmas tree.

The contest is open to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see below) answering this question: What’s your holiday beverage of choice: hot chocolate, eggnog or something a little stronger? Deadline to enter is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 14. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email. Please remember to check your email on Thursday afternoon to see if you’re a winner.

    Dear Donald,
I’d really enjoy an old fashioned egg nog.

I’m thinking that the contest prompt is a trick….holiday drink? GLØG, of course! Just to hold and sniff though. The cooked orange peel, anise seed pods, and cinnamon bark chunks, heated in old, forgotten red wine seem like a better olfactory experience than taste. But….I could be feeling curmudgeonly and might be in need of a dose of holiday auditory stimulation!

I have two favorite drinks that I wait all year for: eggnog with brandy and Tom & Jerry’s…This year it will be extra special because we will have been married for fifty (50) years on December 15, 2023. Happy Holidays!
