Win tickets to organist Alcee Chriss at Keyboard Concerts

Alcee Chriss hit it big in 2017 as the first-prize and Bach Prize winner at the Canadian International Organ Competition. Now he is widely regarded as a leading young organist of our time. Now is your chance to hear Chriss perform in Fresno. I‘m giving away two pairs of tickets to his upcoming appearance with the Philip Lorenz International Keyboard Concerts series. He performs 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at the Fresno State Concert Hall.

The concert is co-sponsored by the San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

The contest is open to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see below). Deadline to enter is 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email. Please remember to check your email on Saturday to see if you’re a winner.

We’re Here! The ARTS THAT IS! A common concern, expressed by Locals, is that there is little to do or that there is not a vibrant Arts scene. Unknown, to some, this community offers year round entertainment and arts. From the musicans playing in clubs of the Tower District, to Save-Mart Center, to Fresno State Key Board Series and other offerings, to churches, schools, Roger Rocca’s, Second Space and other venues, as well as Selland Arena, Tower Theatre there are many offerings. I encourage folks to investigate and see what’s out there. You might be surprised at the many Venues available.

After checking out the line-up of musicians for the 2023-2024 Keyboard Concerts, I was inspired to sign up as a Supporting Member of the Munro Review. I’m amazed by the variety and caliber of musicians in the concert series and don’t want to miss out on anything. I count on you to keep me informed of all the top notch entertainment available in Fresno. If I’m lucky enough to win a pair of tickets to hear Alcee Chriss perform, I plan to take talented a friend
who played pipe organ for church while she was still in high school. Thank you for making this opportunity available here in Fresno.

I would love to see this organist. It is so rare to get a great performance. An organ is a requirement for my church selection. Have to have it. I loved it when everybody had a Hammond electric organ in their houses but sadly they are obsolete.
