Sunday pick: Coro Solare invites you to a party

Fresno Community Chorus

Coro Solare, one of the ensembles under the umbrella of the Fresno Community Chorus, offers a free concert 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Willow Avenue Mennonite Church, 2529 Willow Ave., Clovis. Titled “Invitation to a Party,” the concert features selections from the Strauss operetta “Die Fledermaus” and original compositions by Barbara Ulman. Accompaniment is by a professional string ensemble.

Coro Solare is a daytime, non-auditioned ensemble open to anyone, regardless of background or musical expertise. Anna Hamre, the FCC’s artistic director, conducts. I’ve heard great things about the skill level and preparation of the singers in this group.
