Here’s a chance to support Fresno’s St. John’s Cathedral by attending an evening of beautiful liturgical music. The details:

What: The cathedral’s second biannual liturgical concert fundraiser.

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

Katie La Blue, Soprano
Anne McGrath, Soprano
Jordan Pulido, Tenor
Christopher Rodriguez, Baritone
Jimmy Sanborn, Bass
Danny Sanchez, Alto
Dale Fleck, Director of Liturgical Music
The Rev. Alex Chavez, Rector (Tenor)
The Rev. David Lopez, Parochial Vicar (Baritone)

The special guest: The Most Rev. Joseph Brennan, bishop of Fresno (Tenor), will be part of the concert.

The program: Selections include Fleck’s arrangement of “Ave Maria,” Royce Nickel’s “Solemn Magnificat,” Gorecki’s “Totus Tus,” Ralph Vaughan-Williams’ “Love Bade Me Welcome” and Stopford’s “Anima Christi.”

Tickets: $75 general admission, which includes a Mariachi Fiesta dinner and drinks following the concert.
