Win tickets to Central California Ballet’s production of ‘The Nutcracker’

You can win either a four-pack of tickets or a pair of tickets to the Saturday evening performance of this weekend’s production of “The Nutcracker.” This year’s show features Ana Sophia Scheller and Nicolai Gorodiskii as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. Both dancers are formerly with the San Francisco Ballet and are currently Principal Artists with the Kiyv Ballet (Ukraine). Performances are at the Saroyan Theatre at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

In a story later this week, I’ll be writing about two impressive sibling pairs featured in this season’s production: John and Pauline Estrada, and Liam and Vivienne McCullar. To enter the giveaway, answer this question: What is the most fun activity or event you ever participated in with a sibling? (Or, if you’re shy, you can just say that you’d like to attend.) Specify whether you’d like to win a four-pack of tickets or a pair.

The contest is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

Deadline to enter is 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.

I have 7 siblings, some older and some younger. We have the most fun together when we are playing board games. Plenty of laughing and memories being had. Would love to win the 4-pack to take my little girls and their best friend.
    Thank you for the opportunity!

We love games. Cribbage in the winter, corn hole or horse shoes in the summer. I’d love a four pack to share with my daughter and her daughters.

The most fun activity I’ve done with a sibling was snow skiing as a family when we were younger. Would love to win tickets to either of the Saturday performances of the Nutcracker. Probably a 2 pack as I’m not sure it would be enjoyable for my 2 year old. Thanks!

I have 3 sisters. After we’d all grown and left the house, we did a photo shoot with our mom and gave the picture to Dad as a surprise.

I have 6 siblings. We have shared so many great times over the years, that I can’t really choose a favorite, but I do have a very funny memory of a few of us making a gangster themed “radio show” that we recorded on a small reel to reel tape player. It was hilarious! I’d like a 4 pack of tickets to the Nutcracker. I’d like to bring my sons and start a new tradition with them. However, I would also be happy with a pair of tickets, and take my favorite sibling!

As an only child I was privileged to share my holidays with my mother. My favorite time was Christmas and no matter the budget for that year we would always dress in our pjs with hot cocoa and drive down Christmas tree lane. I now hold this tradition with my own kids.
I would love to see this show and would be grateful for either two or four. Most magical time of the year!

Went to Disneyland with my sister and our families a few years ago! I’d love to attend the ballet; it’s been many years since I’ve seen it!

I’d love a 4 pack to take my kids and husband. My son went to kindergarten with John Estrada, so it would be fun for him to see his old friend performing in the show.
My favorite travel memory with my siblings was traveling the road to Hana in Maui and visiting the Seven Sacred Pools.

I’m an only child, but growing up one of my favorite things to do was visit friends in Redding and the day after Thanksgiving we would go cut down our Christmas tree in the snow and play freeze out, brrrr lol I’d love a four pack so I can take my daughters and husband who’s been wanting to see this show for forever.

I would to attend the event I’m a single mother with two children, my mother recently overcame lung cancer and she would be my special guest as well along with my father. I’m the oldest and only girl, I have two younger siblings and the most fun or memorable time that we cherish till this day is playing baseball with our dad, while mom prepare our picnic lunch. It would be awesome if selected never been to the nutcracker in my life but it’s understandable if others needs come before mine. Thank you in advance. Happy Holidays!

My 2 siblings and I accompanied our mother on a trip to Hawaii to pay last respects to a dear aunt in the winter of 2010. Although it was a solemn occasion, we siblings enjoyed an unexpectedly wonderful bonding occasion while reflecting on the life of our beloved aunt, basking in the Hawaiian sun and with Mai Tai’s in hand.

My siblings and cousins own a cabin near Shaver together and have had the cabin since we were little. We have played mountain hide and seek, hours of card games and Yahtzee, and in the swimming hole playing capture the raft.
