Wednesday pick: Fresno Philharmonic’s ‘Green Room’ features Rei Hotoda and Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio

Both Fresno Philharmonic music director Rei Hotoda and concertmaster Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio give great interviews: They’re sharp, funny, accessible, easy with an anecdote and passionate about their music. The orchestra’s latest installment of its Green Room series on Facebook and YouTube (8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15), features Hotoda talking with Sant’Ambrogio about her life on and off the concert stage.

I bet it will be a great conversation. If you’ve ever wondered what it is exactly that a concertmaster does, you’ll probably learn a lot. For example, did you know the concertmaster has to bake cookies for the entire orchestra? Wait. That isn’t right. You need to watch the interview for the real story. Here’s the YouTube option:
