Cool scenic design alert: ‘CLUE’ debuts at renovated Children’s Musical Theaterworks space

A view from the stage toward the audience area in the Children’s Musical Theaterworks rehearsal space at Sierra Vista Mall.
Children’s Musical Theaterworks experimented with using its rehearsal space at Sierra Vista Mall for a special performance during the pandemic. Now it’s turning to that space again for this weekend’s performances of “CLUE.” (Tickets are very limited, so check ahead.) It plays 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Rachel Hibler directs.
K.C. Rutiaga, president of the CMT board, sent me a few pics of the set, which includes the “CLUE” board painted directly on the rehearsal-space floor (which is new, by the way). Other upgrades new carpet in the audience area. “We are working toward turning our rehearsal space into a space where we can continue to have (hopefully) two straight plays per year,” she says.
