Independence Weekend pick: Clovis Community Choir in ‘Patriotic Concert’

On Friday, July 1, the Clovis Community Choir gets a jump on July 4th festivities with a concert saluting the holiday. The details:

What: “Patriotic Concert,” 7 p.m. July 1, Shaghoian Hall (on the campus of Clovis North High School, 2770 E. International Ave., Fresno). Free admission.

The musicians: 75 singers will be joined by a brass ensemble.

The highlight: “Something special is our Salute to the Armed Forces,” conductor Ed Cobb says. “We acknowledge all service members and invite them to the front to sing along on the medley. (See photo above.) Really thrilling! It’s a very uplifting concert, throughout. Flags are passed out. People sing along. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.”
