Tickets to 3 more Broadway in Fresno shows are on sale
Are you one of those theatergoers who didn’t want to commit to season tickets for the 2018-19 Broadway in Fresno season? Now you can nab individual tickets for three upcoming productions in the new year.
Individual tickets went on sale Friday for “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I” (Jan. 15-16), “RENT 20th Anniversary Tour” (Feb. 6-7) and “Something Rotten!” (April 16-17). It looks as if individual tickets for next spring’s return of “Wicked” (March 20-31) are not yet available.
Of the three shows with tickets going on sale, “Something Rotten!” is the most contemporary of the three (being the only show from this century, of course), and it’s quite the hoot. (Fresno’s Heidi Blickenstaff originated the leading role of Bea on Broadway in 2015.) I’m guessing that ticket sales will be brisk for that title. “RENT” will always bring out the hardcore fans of the show, but I’m curious to see what the turnout will be. And never underestimate the power of a classic family show such as “The King and I.” The tour is the 2015 Broadway revival, which won a Tony for best revival.
Tickets will be available at the Saroyan Theatre box office, Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
