Now streaming: the February episode of ‘The Munro Review’ on CMAC

The February episode of “The Munro Review” on CMAC is ready to view a few days earlier than usual so you can watch it in time for an important Feb. 1 event: the big album release concert for Volume 2 of Benjamin Boone and Philip Levine’s “The Poetry of Jazz.”

Boone and his fellow composer and musician David Aus are guests on the show. I talk to them about that first Tower Theatre concert at which Boone and Levine’s project was born. (I was there, too.) And they share some fascinating details about the creative process in the years that followed.

I have two other wonderful guests. Alex Vavoulis of the Fresno Free College Foundation fills us in on a wonderful opportunity to see 23 old episodes of “The Music Room,” a local TV program hosted by the late pianist Philip Lorenz. It’s a fascinating discussion. You can watch them all online.

And Juan Luis Guzman of the Selma Arts Center drops in to talk about the fascinating play “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.” The production opens Feb. 15.
