More virus disruption: Broadway in Fresno lowers curtain on two upcoming productions

‘Les Miserables’ had been scheduled to open at the Saroyan Theatre April 28.

Here’s the second item today to file under the “Ugh, Another Cancellation” category:

Broadway in Fresno is canceling the June 6 engagement of “Waitress” that had been set for the Saroyan Theatre. The promoter was unable to reschedule the event. Tickets will be refunded.

There’s slightly better (but still depressing) news regarding the April 28-May 3 engagement of “Les Miserables.” That engagement is postponed, Broadway in Fresno announced today. “We are working with the show’s producers to reschedule the upcoming performances and ask patrons to please hold on to their tickets while we work on new performance dates,” the promoter said in a press release.

I’m particularly disappointed that “Waitress” won’t make it here. It’s a charming musical.
