Win tickets to Madera Theatre Project’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’

You can win a pair of tickets to the inaugural production of a new theater company for the central San Joaquin Valley: Madera Theatre Project.

“Beauty and the Beast,” directed by Jacob Sherwood, opens June 16 and runs through June 25. If you win, you can pick any performance.

The show will be presented at the Matilda Torres High School Performing Arts Center in Madera, a new, state-of-the-art facility. It’s a partnership between Madera Unified School District and Madera County Arts Council.

The contest is open to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. The winner will receive two tickets for any time and date during the show’s run.

Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available.

For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter the giveaway, leave a reply on this post answering this question: What is your favorite song in “Beauty and the Beast”? (Or, if you’d prefer, just tell me why you want to see the show.) Leave your entry in the comment field below. Deadline to enter is midnight Thursday, June 16. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.

  • Be Our Guest! Oh! or Gaston. Or Days in the Sun. Or Belle! No. Beauty and the Beast. Of course.

All time favorite song is Beauty and the Beast, in fact it’s both mine and my daughters favorite movie – please oh please choose me!! 🙏🏻

  • Anna Martinez

“Gaston” is the greatest, especially when you know the person singing it! 🤩

  • Mandy

Definitely ‘Belle’ – the ensemble makes the show!

When I was younger it was between Gaston and Be Our Guest. Over the years I have now changed to Belle. I love how it introduces us to the town she is in, all of the villagers, and different traits of Belle herself.

Favorite song has to be “Be Our Guest” – the full ensemble and spectacles is astounding every time! But if we’re talking about best song in the score overall, “Transformation” theme is the winner for me. One of Alan Menken’s best!
