Wednesday pick: Baba Brinkman returns to Fresno

Baba Brinkman, the veteran fringe performer who took Fresno’s Rogue Festival by storm and whose impressive career landed him Off-Broadway, is back in town for a speaking engagement at Fresno State. And he’s squeezed in a local performance of his new show, “Rap Guide to Consciousness,” for just one night only.

Here’s a blurb Brinkman wrote about the show:

Baba’s brain consists of roughly 80 billion neurons with trillions of connections, and none of them has any clue that he exists. And yet somehow those cells come together to produce a steady stream of ill rhymes, laughs, and mind-blowing scientific findings. Come and find out how.

He performed the show at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and he just finished up an Off-Broadway run at the SoHo Playhouse in New York.

Details: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, The Revue, 620 E. Olive Ave. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance and at the door.
