Win tickets to ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ at the Saroyan Theatre
As regular readers of this site know, there are different categories of national touring shows. Most often, Fresno gets what is called the second national tour, which is sent out after the first tour — which hits the biggest cities — is finished. In the case of “Evan Hansen,” however, Fresno is part of the first-tour circuit. The show you’ll see in Fresno will move on to San Francisco, example.
The contest is open only to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review. Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available. For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.
To enter this giveaway, leave a reply on this post (see below) answering this question: Have you ever taken an extended break from social media, and what was it like? (Or, if you’re shy, just tell us why you’d like to go.) Deadline to enter is 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9. The winner will be picked at random and notified by email.

I took a break from social media during Lent. It was freeing and made me more present and productive.

Since 1993 I have taken no breaks from social media. Ever.
My name is Stephen and I’m an addict.
Hi Stephen.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I cannot attend Thursday. Please let someone else have the chance.

I take a break for at least one day each week, sometimes unintentionally because I don’t always think about checking. When I am on, it is for no more than 10-15 minutes each day to keep up with family, friends and local events. My “real life” is too busy to spend a lot of time on social media!
Kimberly R Marks
I have never taken a break from social media purposefully.

I spend maybe 15 minutes a day on FB, and don’t do any other social media except on rare occasions when I need to look for something specific on Instagram, so I don’t feel a need to take a break from social media. BTW, I already have two conflicting events (one of my own making) on the evening of the 12th, but I’d be happy to give tickets to someone who wouldnt otherwise be able to pay for them.
Thx for all the great work!

Only break from social media is when I go on vacation.
Also – kinda interested in seeing this since I did not like the movie.

I try to take a break from social media but find it impossible. A great musical would be a great alternative.

I’d love to win!!!

Quite the opposite of taking a break from social media, I plunged in, after saying for years I would never go there, for a deep dive to take advantage of building a base to sell my art. Calvin Hoff Scraps/Collage

Did somebody say Broadway show?! That’s on my bucket list! I use social media sparingly. Mostly to keep up with my community and to share missing person cases.
I hope the winner has a blast!

I have never taken an intentional break from social media, although I do block specific people and groups that post negative political statements. I would love to win two tickets🤞🤞

I delete social media apps on my phone during the week, and it helps me stay more present (and knowing I can check in on Sundays helps)

I gave up social media a while back- best decision ever. It got ugly and hurt my mental well-being reading/seeing all the hate speech. Would love to see this show.
Kristy
I’ve never taken a break.
John Frank
Not really on social media but would love to watch this show.
