Win a pair of amazing all-access passes to CSU Summer Arts at Fresno State

What’s better than winning a pair of tickets to a great performance? Try winning two all-access passes to as many as 20 performances, lectures and concerts.

The folks at CSU Summer Arts have coughed up a very valuable giveaway for members of The Munro Review. Essentially, the winner will get two passes to anything and everything on the public-festival schedule. This prize is so valuable that you basically can’t even buy it.

The highly regarded Summer Arts festival returns live to Fresno State on Monday, June 27, with a headlining performance by jazz saxophonist Benjamin Boone and former U.S. poet laureate Juan Felipe Herrera. You’ll have a chance to hear Boone’s innovative concept of jazz and spoken word.

I’ll be telling you a lot more about Summer Arts — which runs through July 23 — over the next month. For now, I’d hop on over to the festival calendar page to check out the lineup.

The contest is open to members, donors and individual sponsors of The Munro Review.

Tax-deductible memberships start at $5 a month, and you can make a one-time donation of as little as $3. (Paid memberships help keep the site running, and paid members get special members-only benefits. Please consider a paid membership in support of independent, local arts journalism.) A free membership option is available.

STORY CONTINUES AFTER SPONSORED CONTENT

For details on how to join, go to the Membership and Sponsorship page. No purchase, donation or membership is necessary to enter the ticket giveaway.

To enter the giveaway, leave a reply on this post answering this question: Have you ever attended Summer Arts? (Or, if you’d prefer, just tell me why you want to win the passes, or write a poem about the importance of arts and culture, or tell me what you had for breakfast. Just write anything.) Leave your entry in the comment field below. Deadline to enter is 7 p.m. Sunday, June 26. I’ll pick the winner at random and notify by email on Sunday email.

Holy crap, that’s a huge prize! But are you sure you want a rhyming poem about “arts??”

I’ve been to Summer Arts programs before and they’re spectacular.

    Here’s my poem:
Thanks to this column I can go, blessed by my membership to Munro
    Already worth the dough
    To read Donald’s lovely prose
But to get a chance at FSU style
I only need beat out Jackie Ryle*

    *National Treasure

And I had Club snack crackers for breakfast.

Actually there are only 3 events I really wish to see, so I’ll just buy those tickets individually.

I hope whomever wins this amazing prize can use it a bunch!

Thanks again to the Munro Review!

I have always loved the Summer Arts program at CSUF and this year’s opening with Ben Boone is fantastic. I remember when he did this with Phil Levine at the Tower TheTer!

I once saw a mime at Summer Arts. I wish I could remember his name. The show was absolutely captivating, absolutely one of the most impactful shows I’ve ever seen.

I not only have attended a Summer Arts presentation, I taught one of the classes when CSU Summer Arts was attached to Long Beach State many, MANY years ago. I’d like to see how things have changed since then.

What an opportunity. Now that I am learning how to use my retirement time, I would love to have all access. I have to admit I have only been able to attend a few performances in the past.
