Want to make an impact on Fresno’s arts scene? Apply to be a part of Measure P

A final reminder from Fresno for Parks: There’s still time to submit a nomination to be a member of the Parks, Recreation & Arts Commission. This is the very important nine-member body that will decide how to allocate funds raised by 2018’s Measure P. (This, if the sales tax measure, which will raise funds for parks, recreation and arts, survives a final court challenge.)

But the deadline is soon: 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8.

Here are the details from Fresno for Parks coalition:

The 9-member group will help the City of Fresno provide transparency and accountability to voters while ensuring proper planning and budgeting of Measure P expenditures. Commission members are to be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

Our coalition will be forwarding all form responses received to the City. We will also be reviewing the applicant pool and providing recommendations to help the Mayor and Council appoint a robust group of Commissioners who meet all the requirements (listed below) including geographic diversity and important skill sets. Look for more information about our recommendations and the appointment process in the next two weeks.

You can nominate yourself or someone else.
